Education is a remarkable journey. Whoever is part of it and from which ever angle of it, gains in ways innumerable. An important aspect of learning and growing up in a school environment is the leadership within the school. Those Captains and School Head Boys & Head girls, those colorful sashes, and the badges and the responsibility that comes with it. Ooh! Its goosebumps moments.

Having been school prefects on several occasions throughout my school life, I cannot but stress the importance of donning and taking up those roles.

So was one such moment with Kasturba high School, Rasoolpura school in Hyderabad where Build a Better Future, our NGO is associated with in different capacity building endeavors. The Investiture ceremony is coming up end of this week where the students will take the responsibility of being Office Bearers of the school and the different houses and other clubs as well as.

My dear friend and Principal of the school Ms. Omeshwari had a simple and straight forward request for me. She wondered if we could get our students to be trained by the best of the best. And I said: Why not!!

There stepped in my link with the services – the Police, which my husband is so proudly part of. A few phone calls, a request and voila! We had the professional police Parade trainers’ step into Kasturba High School to train the students with their lefts and their rights and on they went marching around smartly!

Early morning drilling and marching and the drums – what better way to start the day for the young students and my friend messaged that even after a couple of hours of focused training, the enthusiasm hadn’t dipped one bit in the students. The young never disappoint us.

The students will never fail a system.

It’s always the system which fails them.

Along with Ms. Omeshwari and my dedicated team of volunteers and members of BBF we plan to work this system to the benefit of these bright, enthusiastic and promising students @ KHS in the academic year 2023-24 and beyond.
